In 1956, the Blue Motel was rented by the 56 original founders who were pioneers for education and Antalya College was born with its first 125 students. Today, Antalya College, which is proud to be in its 31st year of private education, consists of a Preschool, an Elementary School and Middle School, Anadolu Lisesi (Grammar School) and a High School of Science. Two years after its establishment, Antalya College continued its training and education on the site, which is still in use today.
During the 1987 – 1988 Academic Year, the Elementary School was opened and simultaneously the student dormitories were put into use. During the 1988 – 1989 Academic Year, the Sports Hall, which was built to Olympic standards and has a capacity of up to 1600 was put into service. During the 1992 – 1993 Academic Year, the High School of Science was opened. During the 1994 – 1995 Academic Year the Anadolu Hotel and Tourism High School was opened. During the 1997 – 1998 Academic Year the High School of Fine Arts was established. During the 2007-2008 Academic year, The Anadolu Lisesi (Grammar School) was opened. During the 2008 – 2009 Academic Year, the Anadolu Hotel and Tourism High School completed their mission of seeing their students through to the end of their studies and so ceased to accept registration for this and for the High School of Fine Arts.
The school campus caters for all the students needs in both their private and social lives. The school provides a counseling service, the use of Biology, Physics and Chemistry labs, computer labs, an indoor swimming pool, two multi-purpose culture halls with a modern sound and light system and a 250 – 350 seating capacity, the chance to take part in an experimental media project in coordination with a professional radio station located within the school building, a library, chess rooms, two sports halls, outdoor basketball, tennis and volleyball courts, table tennis, a playground, art and music classrooms, a gymnastic and ballet hall, an activity room, three separate dining rooms, two cafeterias and a doctor’s station which is open throughout the day.
Total Quality Management has been in action since 2001. In 2003 Antalya College was awarded the KQ TS-ISO-EN 9000 Quality Management System Certificate and has been progressing on the road to excellence ever since.
After a long period of hard work, a prize in Competence in Excellence was awarded to the school by the institution of EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management).
Antalya College is a member of ECO schools and continues to increase the student’s awareness of the environment. Antalya College was presented with an Eco Schools Green Flag Award by the Turkish Environmental Education Foundation (TURÇEV), which they still possess.
Antalya College has also been granted the White Flag which encourages cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
